Ours Poetica
“Making poetry personal, in the hands of people who love it.
Ours Poetica captures the intimate experience of holding a poem in your hands and listening as it’s read by poets, writers, artists, and sometimes unexpected – yet familiar – voices. Brought to you by Complexly and the Poetry Foundation, curated by poets Charlotte Abotsi and Sarah Kay.” - via Complexly
I am currently the producer and director for this web series and I was previously the editor. In the first year of the show, I directed 51 episodes. I also edited 156 episodes (three uploads a week) without missing an uploads. Since becoming the lead producer on the project in 2021, I’ve directed an additional 90 episodes.

Join hosts Kallie Moore, Michelle Barboza-Ramirez and Blake de Pastino as they take you on a journey through the history of life on Earth on TikTok! From the dawn of life in the Archaean Eon through the Mesozoic Era — the so-called “Age of Dinosaurs” — to the way our world – and our understanding of it – is still changing today.
Produced in collaboration with PBS Digital Studios.” -via Complexly
My role on this project was as an editor. The challenge of this series was to make engaging edits that remained factual and informative, was visually engaging and entertaining, and stayed under 60 seconds in length. I like to think I succeeded, because my 39 edits accumulated roughly 8 million views.
Crash Course
Free, high-quality educational videos used by teachers, students, and learners of all kinds.
And our videos aren’t just for schools; the majority of our viewers—around 65%—watch Crash Course without being currently enrolled in an associated class.
So far, we’ve taught Chemistry, World History, Biology, Ecology, US History, Psychology, Big History, Literature, Anatomy and Physiology, World History (again), and Astronomy, US Government, Economics, Philosophy, Physics, Film, Computer Science, Sociology, Study Skills, and Mythology. Statistics, Theatre, Media Literacy, History of Science and Engineering are under way!” -via Complexly
I acted on this project as an editor. This was particularly exciting as I frequently consumed Crash Course content while I was in school. I felt like this was an opportunity to give back. It was also a great exercise in fact checking photos and videos, making sure everything we included was 100% correct. I walked away with new skills in information literacy that I know I’ll continue to frequently use in my own work.
